Have been doing this project since last week, am trying to finish it by 24th January, so i can get the buy 1 free 1 album. :P

I decided to take a break from it and blog cause my shoulder blades are killing me, must be the sitting position or the height of my table, or the way i click on the mice.

Anyhow, i hope my in laws will like it. It's for them, and hopefully it will be ready by CNY!

If we are gonna print all our wedding photos, it is gonna cost us more than RM1k!!!! it's 40cents per 4R. Anybody know where else i can print at a cheaper rate?

I hope to print it all before we celebrate our 1st year anniversary! HAHAHA! or at least before our 1st child! :P

2009 was a great year for us!

2nd January, We got registered in Putrajaya

February, I was a bridesmaid for my cousin, it was my 3rd time as a bridesmaid!

14th February, We took a couple photo at Kid Chan's studio

May, my first time to UK!

30th June, our pre-wedding photoshoot at Wedding Couture and Sepang Gold Coast

4th - 6th July, the gals and i went for a 3 days 2 nights in Perhentian Island

31st July - 3rd August, went diving in Tioman, Tekek with our best diving buddies!

7th - 13th August, went to Chiangmai to make our Thai wedding gowns

October, We bought our first fridge! 400l Panasonic RM1810.

14th October, hen's night, Mambo Jumbo night! i told the gals i didn't wanna pray to the toilet bowl, but they have to relive my 'young days'! OMG. so not a pretty sight!

17th October, stag's night, the boys went to The Library, apparently it ended way too early! :P Boys don't take photos! so no pics!!

24th October, OUR Wedding day in Malaysia!

31st October, OUR Wedding day AGAIN in Thailand! A week with our best buddies in Chiangmai! F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S

November - December, I lepak with my husband at home :)) that's how I enjoyed my honeymoon. hehe.

December 14, We became grandparents! our dog Jenny gave birth to 3 little cute puppies!

Time flies, we were JUST counting down to our wedding! and now we're officially a 'grown up' no more angpaos for us :( it's time for us to give back..

36 More days to Chinese New Year!!

WE ARE, Officially MR & MRS Soon!

The stress is off our shoulder, i'm finally eating like my usual self. Can you believe it, i LOST 4 kgs!!! (and i bet merv put on weight) My clothes are so loose now, even my red evening gown was quite loose (and i've altered it few days before the wedding) we have to say thank you to our friends and family.. YES, of course especially to those who have traveled across the world to be with us in Malaysia and in Chiangmai!

I think our wedding was very successful, (hehe) though we had a lil' hic cup, like our videographer was 1 hour and 45 minutes late. He was supposed to be at our house at 7am, but due to his malfunction of ALARM CLOCK, and if we didn't call at 8am. He probably missed our whole wedding. BUT because he was late, me and the girls managed to take some BEAUTIFUL photos with our BEAUTIFUL umbrellas. I must say, the umbrellas were a GREAT hit! Guest wanting to bring them home. Sorry, we only have 30 pieces, and even that, it was a 'SOLD OUT'.. by the end of the dinner, it was all taken!

My HAIR and FLOWER went hay wire, probably because i wasn't any ordinary bride, i was excited and FULL of energy! Either that, rose was super heavy, before the groom arrived, it fell off from my hair, *boo hoo* then before i arrived the groom's house, my veil and hair all fell apart. Thank god i told myself things like this would happen, no matter how organised us brides are, disasters are bound to happen depending big or small. SO i consider this a small issue lah. My girls were there to rescue, and thankful of PeiMing & Craven's Alphard, we had enough space for the girls to sit behind and help me with the hair, we had to say byebye to the heavy rose.. :(

I was too tired to eat anything for lunch, too tired to eat our yummy dinner.. stomach was empty to drink any of the wine. LUCKY i have Su Ann as my sister in law, who came into the room in the morning and gave me this AWFUL tasting chicken essence, that probably gave me the energy to not faint on our wedding day. (i had it when i was in Chiangmai too)

We felt so much love on the 24th October, our great wonderful friends, they made the wedding smooth and "colourful". A lot of fun and laughter all in one day. (i'll do my thanks of a separate blog) Our childhood montage is a present from Clement, Jon, Danny, Kevin and Alvin. Thanks guys! we love you so-so much, and everybody loves the video. Also thanks to David, from Munching Monsters!

am now looking forward to Edwin and Wendy's wedding, it's now our turn to enjoy the evening. *hehe*

and i can feel pimples are popping out! stress dots invading my face!

i need to go to the florist, to settle my hair piece, flowers for corsages, thinking of getting centerpiece for the Table No 1. cause i saw the taitong's fake flowers looks so miserableeee... and *-ugly...

oh my seating arrangement is all settled!! i think we did pretty well. Hopefully we don't get any complains later on, but... ... will see how it goes. :P

We settled our photos with the bridal shop, so next week we get the photo album. YAY!! oh, and Cashyn from Wedding Couture is nice, she agreed to give me car ribbons for the heng dai! and some chinese stickers too! At first she didn't wanna give me, but i guess since we've created a 'special' bond, she agreed.

i'm brain dead right now. all i can think of is i have only 1 weekend left to the wedding, since this weekend i have my FRUIT CARVING course. *sighs*. 5 full days classes. i hope i graduate with flying colours that i can carve something nice for the centerpiece!

My ji Muis are the best! they are super brainstorming on how to torture the boys! and the boys are like waiting to take their revenge on 24th night. :)

and though we had our hen's trip. the girls are planning for a hen's night!! 14th Oct, we're going mambo jumbo. YAY! i think the night out its more for the girls to have fun.. and hoping to get me drunk. but i don't want to end up puking and getting dragged out from the club.. i wanna walk out stunning. and yet, they don't care. how evil.

*thinks that weddings are bad for health - it causes high blood pressure, hyper tension, shoulder aches, pimple outbreaks, insomnia, nightmares .. many more..

on saturday.. we went to the restaurant, paid the balance of deposit, finalised the menu, we wanted to change our soup, even if its 'hoi mei tong' sea smell soup.. hahaha.. it's some seafood soup (sea cucumber etc) or 'fat tiu chong' buddha jump over the wall soup.. we had to pay additional rm100 - 200 per table. and we thought okay, we opt for double boiled chicken herbal soup. we had to pay rm60 per table.. so.. yes, we're sticking to our shark fin soup without shark fin. -_-

then... we went to old klang road, the auspicious house at 3rd mile square to buy our bridal room accesories.. like the baby tubs etc, and the bedside lamps.. and mervin bought the dowry stuffs. traditional yet simplified. not cheap though, we spent about rm250 there.

last night, we drove pass a new china store, in taman mayang opposite KJ lrt station, its called Fun & Cheer, they have the red umbrellas for sale at a very reasonable price, below rm20. I think its rm14.80. They have a few pricing.. At living cabin, it's rm29.90.. or is it rm19.90. hmm.. but anyway, fun & cheer has really really cheap 'double happiness' logo stickers at rm0.80 only!! - rm2.80! really really cheap. they even have confetti for sale from rm4- rm9. wedding tea pots not very cheap, rm58.80.

we've been staying home cleaning and clearing a house that is filled with 25 year old hand me downs.

we're almost done, and mervin has done a really good job!

mommy and future mommy doesn't really like the cupcake idea. *aihh*

what should i do? paid rm100 for deposit, should i change it to the typical cake, change it to tarts or don't care and just go ahead with cupcakes?

we're gonna have nasi lemak for lunch on the 24th October 2009. it is safe, and it's almost every Malaysian's favourite food. So we can't go wrong with that.

29 days before the wedding, i finished doing my part of the guest list and seating arrangement. *phew* i feel it is my toughest part in the whole wedding process. and how i wish every group are in TENS. ^_^ and the world is really at peace and harmony that we can put anybody and everybody on one table and they would enjoy the food together and go home happy ...

I'm thinking of not wearing the white wedding gown at night, and straight away wear my red evening gown. what say you?

In a few days time, we can go view our photos again before the bridal shop send it for printing! *fingers crossed* i hope their design is according to our request. simple, natural and black and white.

my mom enrol me for a Thai fruit/vegetable carving course at the Thai Embassy, from 10th October SATURDAY- 14th October Wednesday 8.30am - 5pm! it is her wedding gift to me.. as she says, she too, went for some course before she got married, to prepare herself to be the BESTEST Thai wife. *_*

So because of that, i have 30 days to go, and only 3 weekends left to the wedding!!!!! YES! this relax bride is beginning to lose her 'relax-ness' .. stress is beginning to creep into her body.

we don't have any fancy names to call our wedding night, it's not movie red carpet night (though i didn't mind the red carpet) .. it's not a hello kitty wedding .. it's not a snowflake fairytale wedding, etc etc..

but we thought at least to have a theme colour.. so its RED! .. red is not my most favourite colour.

But i thought it really has a good contrast, it's happy, shows passion, desire, and love!!

Bought my super red umbrella from Chiangmai.. only for 75BAHT! (it helps if you speak thai and you know where to get it, they were selling it for 150Baht elsewhere) anyway RM16 is still real cheap compared to the one i wanted to buy from London 20pounds/Belgium 20euro.

we have mini red and pink umbrellas for only 20Baht to help passion-up the restaurant

red is so lovely.. and it looks good in photos too :P

Many people has asked me if it's a must to wear red.. welll.. it's not a must.. but i guess it would be lovely for the morning session? for photos sake and it definitely looks like a happy happy occassion :) At night i shall release you from the RED nightmare.. and you can wear any colour you look pretty in..

except black though. mommy hates hates black.

we're LOVING every bit of the card.

It's simple, it's red, it's so chinese, it's oriental, AND it's so ~~cheap~~ affordable! hahahahahhaa!

We spent about RM200 to print our 230 pieces wedding cards.

We wanted 25 tables, small cozy wedding, but it's been expanding, and hasn't stop, same goes for the Thai wedding.. smallest, to small to smallbig to big to bigger to biggsmall.

i don't make any sense i know. i never do.

we had a gal's night out last night, went to 'the library' at cineleisure now known as e@curve i thought it was another scarlet, but it's not too bad.. live band on selected days, which i don't remember now, good promo on happyhour, nice big comfy chairs, half open air.. non alcoholic drinks is at reasonable pricing at good size glass. (hopefully they stay that way)

Anyway.. we were discussing on how to ~~play~~ torture the heng tais! ngek ngek ngek! me so excited i count myself in as a JI MUI! haha! too bad i've to peep from the window.

you know, i couldn't sleep last night, just thinking about the games we're gonna play i mean the ji muis.. .. *evil grin*

I have exactly 1 month and 9 more days to go! kelly asked me how am i feeling, right now, i feel excited about the games, a drag just thinking about the seating arrangements and guest list..

Somehow i just don't wanna think about the wedding is just a few weeks away.. but i also want it to come quick and 'get over and done with'.. keke.. yes, my dad feels i've lost my enthusiast too.

Something really funny happen yesterday, my husband to-be, forgot my age!

I thought he meant someone else, but when i asked him, he said 'you lorrr' he said, you're turning 29 mar, but people don't say their age is 29 (some superstitious belief), so it's 30 lor!

suddenly he remember, i'm turning 28! must be one of his brain wires connected properly..

Of course, he rectified his FB msg, and announced to the whole world i was turning 28, i made him change it to 18.

Last night we had a spontaneous 'come my house night', jemi, ling, mel and alvin came to the house. we did like what our parents did when they were younger, house visiting. sit down, chit chat, and have some non alcohol drinks.

Mervin left his mobile at home, and when i came home, i saw soo many missed calls and soo many messages, so i HELP him check. and saw jemi's msg, 'well?'

and i thought, huh, well what?

then i had to read her next message

Endao. Ling and I dropping over tonight. Can i ask

for ur help to sneak a bday cake into the house to surprise SWEE GONG at midnight.

YES. my supposedly best friend, calls me swee gong. sighs.

Of course after reading the message i'm so happyyyyy and smilingggg and laughingggg.. that i just ruin my own surprise!! i could have played along with her... but the honest me, told her the truth.. hahahaha!

Thank you very much, because of all of you, i will remember this year's 18th birthday for a very very very long time.

Getting married, is not all about just planning for the wedding, but also preparing the new home. Lucky for us, we have a place, so we don't need to find extra cash to buy a place, or renovate the house, buy new furnitures and electrical appliances. (however, the fridge is dying of old age)

We did our first, husband and wife shopping for household stuffs, in Ikea, we bought our new quilt. I forgot how much it was now, above RM100. There's so many new kinda decision making to make, example we had to decide which size we want, queen or king. He complains i snatch the comforter in the middle of the night (which clearly i don't), so we got the king size, then we had to decide the level of warmnest. 1-2 / 3-4 /5-6 . we picked in between.

Last week, we went to Jusco (Jusco is having sales till end of this week), we bought our new bedsheets, pillow cases, quilt cover, new pillows, new bolster. Spend about RM320. And we spend, maybe less than an hour, choosing for our perfect bedsheet. Mervin wanted Red. I wanted white, we ended up choosing cream colour quilt cover and sheets, with red pillow cases. (compromise is the key to a good marriage) It was ONLY bedsheets, but we had to decide on pattern or plain, dark / bright/ pastel colours. then there's pricing, and 250 /280 / 300 thread count. Cotton / Silk.

Now we're done with that, in October we need to get new mattress.

It was at night, and i was in my lovely gown, it was a successful night, everybody came, no empty hall. Everyone was so happy, laughing and drinking.

and suddenly i see my friends taking photo of us, and i was wondering, where's the photographers? i thought i have 2 of them, and why my friends are the one taking photos? and.. i realised, hey, where's the videographer?

Oh crap, where's the photographers and videographer?? THEY FORGOT about my wedding!! i mean, our wedding! :P

And i forgot to call them to remind them!! AISEH. so lousy...

- so, next month, i'll call them to remind them about the wedding. -

I went to pick up my invitation cards, and the lady said, 'sorry worrr.. the card you ordered, we only have 100 pieces' she then shows me, another colored card, 'so you can pick this color for the other half'...

Though i was dreaming, i can feel i gave her a 'wtf' face. hahaha.. ok ok.. maybe more like 'HAAAAAAAAAAA what did you just saiddd'

Oh you don't like ah.. we have it in BLUE too!

After months of planning, and waiting... 4th of JULY, came and left..

3 days 2 nights, is wayyyyyyyyyy tooooo shortttttt!!

But what to do, we all had work to return to.

Maybe next time k? LH's hen's trip, we go somewhere again!

Anyway, let me introduce you to the girls (in no special order).. that made it all so fun and memorable!

Ling, my uni mate, met her in 2005 in Canberra. She and Loreen was my first uni friend. :) yes, uni life can be quite lonely at times, especially for me, cos i went there alone to make new alien friends. hahaha~ So Ling was my bestie at uni! never fail to be there when i needed a friend.

LH! she's my high school classmate. Among the 3 closest girls from high school, (the other 2 married and busy with their married lives) she was the only one that can make it for this superb trip of ours. haha! anyway, she's also my bestie!!! (so many besties hor) was always there for me during my weirdest, wildest, craziest, emo-est, moments in school.

J-out! She's my college classmate. She's probably the only ~~girl~~ person from college i still very much keep in contact, almost everyday of our lives (at least we try to keep each other updated) we were always there for each other :)

wenz, ........... hmmm..................... she's an outsider! hahaha, who crashed our party! .. :P she's probably gonna kill me when she reads this. She is J-out's husband's close friend, who we all stole her from him. haha! After months of knowing her, we found out that she's merv's long long long lost lost lost cousin.. Their both in the 'khoo kongsi' clan. sounds like some gangster huh? It's really good to have this kinda thing, so you can trace your long lost relatives.. until today, we don't really know how their related.. but they are lah!

this is ~~siao-cha-boh.~~ kelly, she's J-out's high school classmate, she's the gal who entertain us throughout the trip with her silly and TS acts. she suffered from motion sickness (hence, posing with novomin, her life saver) , she had fever, she was always sleepy and sleeping, and she puked, she had all sorta nonsence lah.. but never failed to make us laugh. :P

As you can see, (this line just reminded me of uni presentation days) haha! , most of the girls doesn't have any connection at all.. they all just have one thing in common, (besides drinking), they all knew me. that's about it.. So me and J was quite nervous about having an awkward group for 3 days and 2 nights.. like they didn't really know each other.. etc etc.. would they all get along.. would they be bored..

Before the trip, we came out and had dinner, introduce girls to girls, had some drinks.. chit chat.. and they talk like they knew each other forever! *phew*

and during the trip.. they were joking, and making fun at each other, no barriers. laughing at each other, and with each other.

SO!! me and J was so glad and so happy (glad n happy same meaning right? lol) to see that sight.. and it was indeed a successful hen's trip.

Today is freaky friday.

BUT.. it is not a friday 13th.

i dreamt that OMFG!!! i totally forgot to do my guest list (which until today we haven't finish our guest list yet), the hall was pretty empty, only a table of heng tais, closest friends were there, and closest relatives, and no one else, the card was handwritten in BLUE magic pen, and names were spelled wrongly, I even saw a card, Joanna tan was written as Joanna TO. wtf? and it was just scribbles.

AND, i was wearing a really BIG loose short dress, and i ask my galfriend, LH, to help me collect mine, apparently she left hers in my house too, she came back all dress in her dress, and when i ask her, where is mine, she said I THINK its in the cupboard. i was burning up, and WHAT do you mean you THINK? i checked, and no dress in any cupboards, and i ask her did you even brought it with you. all she can say was, I DUNNO, I DUNNO. and let me tell ya about LH, she has this innocent face. and she gave me that look, with I DUNNO I DUNNO. and i was screaming and asking her how can you not know, if you brought it with you or is it in the car, or where is it!

and yes.. she answered, I DUNNO.

i stomp off to my empty hall sat with the other gals, and complain. and suddenly they started complaining about stuffs. all women shouting everywhere.. LH was just so Tulan.

OH. and mervin called me. so i woke up from this terrible dream.

the whole day i was so stress, and my neck was hurting me.

I thought i could just stay home, and rest and finish the guest list... But daddy came and kidnap me, to run some errands..

something has never happen to me, happened today, i almost got run over by a car.

DAMN. i seriously don't know what was running through my mind while crossing the street.

I was waiting for quite a bit, and there was another older lady across the street waiting too, so there was this kind man in a black merz,(1st lane) stopped, so we crossed, as i crossed, on the 2nd lane, suddenly there was a red kelisa zooming at me... everything was so fast, and she didn't seem to even slow down, as if she wanted to run me down on purpose.

i just stopped and stoned, and stared, and not sure what to do next. (seriously. i was at shocked). i really thought, that was it, i'm gonna be hurt badly.

eventhough her car didn't touch me at all, i felt my legs was hurting.

for some reason, i woke up, and run across the street. and she DID emergency stopped, and shook her head and scolded me. i was so stonned and just ran off.

this has never happen to me before.

i was almost in tears.

we brought our own camera, photos quality are not up to standard, but not bad for previews. hehe. not sure when can we get the touched up photos.

apparently some bridal shops does not allow you to take photos, but Wedding Couture seems quite cool about it, though i ask the make up artist to help us take a photo, and she said she's not allowed.

I had, 2 indoor wedding gowns, 2 evening gowns, 1 outdoor wedding gown, and 1 traditional chinese costume.

She put 2 bottles of ampoules for me, and for mervin too. (yes, some make up artist have mention, ampoules makes no difference at all, it's just ways to earn our $$) And lots of make up all over my face. It was like the making of geisha!! I was super white, not sure if it was the base or the concealer.

fake lashes makes damn alot of difference!! oh, i found out something gals, my make up artist said that we don't need to stick double fake lashes, but just use one, and pick the drama fake lashes for more drama look, but she cut the lashes into 2 and dunno how she stick it, but it did the job. I told her i want BIG BIG eyes marr.. :P

(another way for them to earn our $$ again, double means pay more mar!) but wedding couture provides free fake lashes, and 'free' hair spray colors, but i just need to pay for ampoules.

we paid in total RM120 for ampoules!! and usually its like RM15-30 for a box of 10 ampoules.

SO tired!

we're so exhausted from today, our appointment at wedding couture's studio was at 7am. But we woke up at 620am! LATE LATE LATE. friends who knows us, that's not something new. hehe. we arrived at 730am, i didn't really time the make up artist, but approximately 8ish, we were in the studio snapping our first wedding photos.

i was probably one of the make up artist's (jaslynn) easiest or fussiest customer. depending how she sees it. I told her, i like it to be simple, no big head pieces, natural lips but dramatic eyes, no tiara, no pink or red eye shadows. HAHAHA!

My first look, she gave me a tiara, but when she put it on, i did feel like a princess, she told me it's a simple tiara, not so kua cheong, and it's more like a hair band. So okay lah! i agreed. *giggles*

And when i went up to the studio, i told the photographer (ah D), we want, natural, happy, romantic, and some black and white photos. :P He said, all he will do is, teach us how to pose.. and it's all up to us, to smile naturally, and look happy.. I think we did well, they said we look as if we're doing darlie ads!

Anyway, this is supposed to be a short blog. Cause am so tired...

We came back home at 8pm. :) i took some photos, but.. next blog lah.. i'll post up..

Wasn't easy picking out ONE favourite gown.. and it's not even selecting for the actual day wedding gown yet, only for the photoshoot, which is next Tuesday!! 5 more days to go!!!

I've trim n dyed my hair to natural color. :)

I've went for my facial, one week before the wedding photo shoot. Advise given from the beautician at slimming sanctuary.

I'm going to do my pedi and manicure this Sunday or Monday.. Gonna just do french manicure. Simple and nice.

We have our shoes.

Mervin has his black slacks. Not sure about his white shirt though! Apparently white shirt is also provided by the bridal shop..

OKAY, no more boring stuffs, and just photos of me and the gowns! :)

(oh this round, i tied up my hair, and put some make up, some advise i read from a wedding magz)

this is merv's favourite, we call it the metalic gown. that makes my boob looks like a size C! I asked Cashyn, the oh-so nice sales assistant of mine, whether i can alter the boobies part, but of cos not, BUT, with today's technology, we can PHOTOSHOP the boobs to be SMALLER! how funny right, people want big boobs and going for boob jobs, i'm photoshopping mine to be smaller!

this is one of my favourite, simple and oh so simple..and .. oh so pretty..
it's my mommy's favourite too... if i can't find anything nice by august, i'll probably pick this for my actual day gown.

beginning of the year, i tried some wedding gowns, and picked this for my actual day wedding gown. i really like the empire waist cut, and the flowy effect.. however its too long for me. and i cant wear super high platforms, i'll be looking like a giant next to mervin! anyway, its a rented gown right, so many brides have worn this, and one person made some not too obvious tiny holes, so it's now an 'outdoor' wedding gown. So i'm gonna wear this for my beach photoshoot.

i showed my dad all the dresses, and he was like, ah ok, and ah this ok, and ok ok, everything ok.. then when i showed him this, aiyah, this like kampung (village) girl only.. :P but i still chose this lah.. me staying true to my roots, kampung girl all the way! yayyy!

i think me and my mom have same taste. we both like this dress very much! :)

Pm said, all my dresses have same cutting, same kind, same same same. hahaha! i didn't notice it before, but nevermind lah.... if not these choices, it would be ah lian kinda dress. me no like leh.

Oh that's all! the other selection is chinese costume, so it's either a QUAH, or a Cheongsam. No need to select or alter. Pick it on tuesday, and probably they just put some pins behind if its too loose.

Oh, and they can photoshop my uneven tanned skin too! :)

OMG! has it been 7 years already??

apparently i thought merv forgot about today, because he agreed to swap shifts with his colleague for an afternoon shift!

and i honestly just remembered about today, yesterday. :P Didn't have time to get him anything but a card! at least it's not a FREE E-card. hahaha..

So when i gave him his card this morning, he said mine is at home!!!!!!!! YAY! i have a gift waiting for me at home. I wonder what is it... i hope its not just a card. *giggles*

Great day to remember today, because I'm gonna pick out my wedding gowns. it's the best way to remember our 7th year anniversary... the process of us getting married.

Back from Belgium, yknow what, i had only one chocolate when i was there!! smelling all the chocs was enough to make me full!!

I was really fascinated, and this may changed me into collecting glasses in the future.. about, matching glasses with the drinks you order!! I have no photos to show at the moment. (lazy to download my pics)

We ordered 3 different drinks each of us right, and i had a fanta orange glass, with a fanta orange bottle, and wk had ... i forgot what he had.. but it was matching lah, and sa had lipton tea in a lipton glass!

even when i ordered water, it was evian in an evian glass! honestly, i was sooo tempted to bring them all home!!

they even have matching beer glasses to go with your different brand you order!

another thing i've learnt about belgium is, french fries is originated from belgium. as what i've heard.. people queue up to eat fries! with mayo on top.

my trip to belgium, was... interesting.. people are... somewhat friendly KUA. and.. my most yummiest food i had was...

Back from Barcelona, and going to Brussels, Belgium tomorrow. Have no idea what's great in Belgium except for Belgium chocolates. Guess me gonna stuff my face with chocolates!

It was a lovely day today to be out from the house. Cycled around hyde park, relax at the Princess Diana's memorial walk. I was out from 6pm till 830pm! if it wasn't for my hungry tummy, i wouldn't have known it was time to go home! the sun was still up and the people was still at the park, hanging out, only thing missing are some 'roos'.

Am so looking forward to June 8, the wedding shoot, perhentian trip with the gals, pm's first baby. ..... and of course.. the wedding day!

Can't wait to go back home, and start preparing for 24th OCT. our photoshoot with wedding couture is end JUNE. *the excited bride is back*

1 month away from my husband to be is a good start to our marriage. haha! cause you'll know, if you miss him and wanna go back to him, or love your freedom, and wish it didn't have to end. (apparently he misses irritating me, talk about weird couples)

we have agreed, from now onwards, we'll travel together. Well except for my hen's trip.

am now in London, (my first time), visiting my bro n sis in law. I've always imagine spring, to be colourful and romantic. Like lovely flowers, lovely weather, lovely spring dresses with spring flowery hats.

But i'm all wrapped up. Been wearing 3 to 4 layers everyday! with a wool scarf too.

Anyway, this is just England's spring.. am sure other countries have lovely springs there.

have not been doing any wedding preparations AT ALL. oh, but we've transform our lil' home, into home sweet home. We now spend more time at home, and enjoying our new lil' patio.

3 more weeks then i'm back home to Malaysia- a place where we call home.

So sorry! I haven't had the time to blog, and haven't have much to kepoh

6 months to go, and we need to settle our guest list, video presentation or slides show of photos, cleaning our new house together.

We haven't really finalised on our guest list, at least we still have time on the card printing. Because TaiTong's invitation cards are so simple and has limited design to choose from. It makes printing easy for them. Apparently it only takes like 3-7 days for art work.. art work meaning just words, so that depends how fussy we are in their font size, font type, allignment.. which we might be able to settle that in a day.. Unless they screw up our names. then i think it also takes 3-7 days for printing. and they don't have to print the hardcover of the card, just the inserts. Basically, she said we'll get our card in 10 working days! Taitong is affiliated with Redcard , branches are at kepong and puchong. They sell other wedding related stuffs too.

We've been cleaning the house, bit by bit.. first the car porch, and on Sunday we started with the living area. (it made merv wondered if he should go into the cleaning cum design services!) Too bad i didn't take a before and after shot! We now have a place to yumcha in our so called patio, OH! and we had lunch there on Sunday.. (while it was drizzling) :) Now we just need to find a way to kill all the mozzies before it kills us!!

Danny-boy, is going to help us with the multimedia show. It's gonna be cute/ cool / funny.. we're not sure yet.. We let him decide, after all, he is the pro and i am just supposed to scan all our photos for him (so don't let us down!)

I was at Putrajaya- JPN again last month, for a friend's registration, and he got the room on the right. it is so much nicer!!

Now it's time for choosing my make up artist. After my previous blog about how to choose a make up artist , which is.. i dunno how at that time, but after 3 trials!! I think i can tell you my opinion now..

1st! you must like her face, because she's gonna stand real close!

2nd! you must also like her as a friend, because you have to trust her to make you look pretty!

3rd! she knows what she is doing, she's the professional, so we don't tell them what to do, rite? but then leh, she should be able to accept feedbacks.

4th! again, feel comfortable with her, nice person, as though u want her to be your next best friend! :)

5th! doesn't criticize your face/ skin / eyes/ hair... that's why we hire them, to make us look pretty!! and to tell us we are pretty. hahahaha!

6th! she is attentive and detailed person

7th! uses product that suits your face / skin type etc

8th! is good with styling hair too!

feedbacks from my friends are love the smokey eyes, lip color not so suitable, foundation a bit cakey n made my face lumpy, for some reason, my eye bags looks more obvious, oh and i look tan?

she kept on rubbing my eye bags with cotton bud to clean the black eye shadow, that i think it made my eyes a bit sore, i had to ask her what about my lips, and then she only put lipstick on for me, not so attentive to me, because i ask her, the black eye shadow on my face, you would clean that right on actual day, then she asked me, where? and took cotton bud and clean it. and i walked out with the hair clip she clipped on my hair.

i like her day make up though. But you only can see ONE EYE of the day make up.

cost: Trial rm100, only make up. took approx. 1 hr

actual day 2 sessions in one day is rm800 inclusive of fake lashes and ampoule and simple hair accessories.

Through my 6 months experience of planning our wedding, and searching for venues twice for just one wedding. o_o

*drum roll*

Don't bother paying full amount for deposit. We didn't the 1st time with Bangi EQ, and lucky for that, they promised that they would refund our deposit in 2-3 weeks time, and this is the 4th week, and still no $$ in our bank account.

The black and white, says RM5,000 deposit, we told them we will pay RM2,500 and in December we will pay the other half, but when December came, they didn't bother to follow up with us, So of course, we rather keep our money in our bank account rightt..

AND... with Oriental Pearl Tai Tong, AGAIN, black and white says, RM3,000 deposit, and this round it says, no refund of deposit, we paid half of the deposit, and our agreement is to pay the other half on the our food tasting night...

So tip number 268, Don't have to pay full amount of deposit!! :) The skill is, negotiate negotiate negotiate!

it was valentine's day, and quote k c' s site 'because the portrait last much longer than roses…….' i decided to sign up for this!! as my gift to us! :)

Creation FEE: RM99.99Includes:15 minutes session (10 poses) &One 5”X7” Fine Art Black & White PhotoLaminated + Frame

SO.. as a typical WOMAN! i saw the promotion, and WHAT! only RM99.99 K C wor and 10 poses and one printed 5R, FRAMED!

We went, we did our photoshoot, 15 minutes was like 1 hour in there. We had fun. We ran out of poses and we ended up doing some silly shots!

One week later, 210209, we went to select our best shots. As a typical woman, I read only what i wanted to read, which was RM 99.99, 10 poses, 1 printed & framed! Went there, saw our lovely super nice natural shots, only to find out..

'NO LAH, not 10 poses of soft copies, its we only take 10 poses for you on Vday!!' (but they took more than 10 poses anyway)

*FAINT*

*flooded kc's studio with my tears*

One soft copy is RM35 - no edit

One coloured printed is RM35 - NO SOFT COPY (i forgot the size)

One black and white printed is RM45 - again, NO SOFT COPY

One album RM6XX (said to increase on MONDAY to RM8XX) - again, NO SOFT COPY!

WHATTT! i paid you to take my photos, and pay you for printing my photos on my paid album, and YET i dont get MY SOFT COPIES!

KC questions 'you want your soft copies for what, Facebook is it?'..

So after an hour, of short listing our photos, we chosed ONE photo, (will pick it up this sat) and was tempted to purchase some others..

hahaha.. i didn't really understand what he was saying lah.. but my interpretion of his analogy is... if you like a chef's food, you don't ask him which market or what vegetables and ingredients, you ask the chef to cook for you..

so his advise was to purchase one printed (not sure about the frame now) instead of soft copy, because it wont be the same as developing it with the regular Kodak retail outlet.

basically, i flooded his studio even more! *__*

if i can attached my tears here, you'll take ages to load this page up

SO our conclusion was, GIVE US one week to think about it.. we'll see if we want soft copy or printed. both same price, but one we can't reprint it..

i have alot of things on my mind lately, well this pass week, my bride to be duty just pick up again.. like i said before we've decided to change venue.

i booked 4 places!

tropicana, spring garden on the 25th oct 09, 24th oct all 4 function rooms are fully booked! (pork free)
bukit kiara, oriental pearl on the 24th oct 09 (pork free)
bangsar seafood on the 24th oct 09 (halal)
oriental pavilion on the 24th oct 09 (will cater food from mj cafe for halal table)

why i book so many places? because i wanna be KIASU! a few other restaurants are already fully booked, and not many halal or pork free restaurants available. and most of the hotels in pj is booked, anyway we don't want to go for hotels already.

i'm now a pro, doing this survey, research, view venue, ever since Tuesday! and it's only Thursday now, I've already short listed and pick Bukit Kiara from the whole lot. Now i only need my daddy's approval.. not bad right? of course, it's my 2nd time doing it! nobody is as LUCKY as me. like i said, OH ...STAR LIGHT STAR BRIGHT -_-

And my plans have now changed, thailand was supposed to be a small small wedding for closest friends and family only... and my mommy's kampung people.. and m'sia was not so BIG also lah.. but now, its changed, 8months to the wedding, and airasia's free ticket has caused a massive typhoon, msia will be as tiny as possible, and small cosy wedding for the most important people in our lives only (CHE WAH) ... (its true yknow, u r important to us)

and thailand is gonna be BIGBIG ceremony..

and my parents says i'm repeating their history.. (audience: aawwww)

they had 5 tables in msia, NO invitation card, and 50 tables in thailand! they had their wedding during loykratong too, Aunty Mary went for their wedding, and She is coming for mine! :)

in one week, i helped booked 20over air tickets, searched, surveyed, viewed venues, met up with neptune view studio (wedding videographers)... actually in 3 days!

8 months to the wedding, this is what am doing!

today wk woke me up at 10ish-am sat in front of pc till 2ishpm, didn't go to the office, because I WAS busy BUYING AIR ASIA TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it was FREE.. WAS FREE but NOT ANYMORE!! we sapu all! MUAHAHAHAHA!

OHHH we have news to POST! BIG NEWS! 8 months 14 days to the actual day, and WE decided to CHANGE THE VENUE!!!!!!

after my travel agent duty, i was back to bride to be duty.. PLAN B!

actually thanks to WK again, i search on oriental group and tai tong site, and called them, Maju palace is oriental's only halal restaurant, and Maju Palace, isnt merv's favourite place, bcos its located at basement parking!

tomorrow is my cousin's wedding, (yes, everyone is getting married), i'm one of the bridesmaid, and my nose is block and running at the same time! have a tissue stuck in my nose the whole day, and i repeat, tomorrow is my cousin's wedding!! and i'm the bridesmaid!! i'm gonna sneeze and blow my nose on stage (malay wedding).. and fan the bride n groom at the same time.. *YIKES* (gonna spread my love to everyone tomorrow)

And her other tip for me, something she said ages ago, is to always look beautiful, keep fit, and don't let your body go 'Out of Shape'... because you want your husband to be proud of his wife, and to show off his wife to all his friends and bring you out for functions.. etc.. etc!

we play snooker together. watch movies together. cook together. dive together. watch tv together. (yes i'm a tv freak). play boardgames together. play mahjong together. laugh at each other. swim together. goes to gym together. used to work in the same company together. cycle together. and for some reason, we like to take funny looking photos of each other!

i like to think, we're inseparable.

Finding the Perfect Wedding Gown

A friend of mine, I shall call her.... Bridezilla. *giggles* is getting hitched! Congratulations!

Anyway, she's planning her wedding too, and we've been exchanging notes. It's really fun that we're kinda planning the wedding together.. It's like girls playing masak-masak together! :) (i love masak-masak)

I was just thinking the other day that, weddings does bring people together. My sister in law, brothers, friends, my friend bridezilla who we haven't seen for ages, are now chatting almost everyday!

Anyway, i'm going off topic as usual... finding the perfect wedding gown, is not super easy at all! i wanna look super pretty, DDG (dropdeadgorgeous), outstanding, and i wanna have the 'wow effect'! hahaha.. not easy i tell ya!

Unfortunately for me, due to budget constrain, i have to go with rented gowns, they only alter at the sides of the chest area, not the hips nor the length! just imagining myself trip and fall flat on my face! so embarrasing.

Well, there's a shop in town (don't remember the name), that you tailor make your wedding gown, according to your budget and style, and after the wedding, you can sell it back the shop, of course at a loss lah! but its like renting a gown fitted just for you. If i knew about this earlier, and if budget allows, i would have done this, and forgo the typical bridal wedding package.

Oh well too late now..

People tells me, oh you're lucky cause you're tall and slim, any dress would look nice. But i seriously doubt so and can't make up my mind, if i should go for the classic A line, or Empire cut, or the Mermaid cut, Halter, Chinese collar, Strapless, with Strap. Sometimes i think life shouldn't have so many options ..it's already super complicated... and people say planning a wedding is fun or supposed to be fun, me and bridezilla has concluded, it's not entirely true, not one bit. It's stressful, and the arguments... the different opinions.. Whoops, out of topic again..

I'm not sure if it's bad luck to post up photos of me trying the wedding gownsss.. but i'm indecisive.. i need my gal friends to help me out.. and i need simon cowell's kinda critic. :P however the below dresses are not my short listed gowns.. I've spent 3 hours trying different dresses, (i had a spinning headache towards the end), i spent my time in a 3x3 space behind curtains with the sales assistant i barely know, she stripped me down till i had only my undies left!!

Sighs. What we (brides-to-be) go through to find the perfect gown!!

Personalised Stamp

The newage wedding ceremony is no longer the same as our parents era. Theirs are super traditional and can also be super simple compared to what the wedding business has to offer now.

We want personalised invitation card, we want custom made logo on our cards, we want personalised decor in ballroom, we want our faces on our wine bottles (yes, all u need is $$), we want personalised wedding favours, we want entertainment, different sorta entertainment, liveband, dancers, singers, big walk-in, ah kua shows.. the list goes on... all this because we want to be DIFFERENT.

Strangely, my dad was the one who told me about this personalised stamp for any special occassion. My dad who is a hardcore stamp collector, want me to pay RM500 for me to get myself personlised stamps, with our faces on it. so people can lick it and stick it on envelopes, so my dad can put it in his safe box along with his other first day covers. :)

Finally 2nd January arrived and has past...

For some reason i couldn't fall asleep, my head was wide awake, it was thinking and thinking and thinking.. (i dunno what it was thinking, but definitely it was thinking).. my eyes and my body was so tired and drained out! it was 1ish am when i went to bed, i had to wake up at 6am to look pretty and SUPPOSED to leave the house at 7am. (yea, we were late, but not as late as the groom;)

And i thought to myself, it's not even the real day! (i dunno what time i switched off though)

BUT i managed to wake up at 6am, and for those who knows me, I LOVE TO SLEEP (who doesn't?) and always wakes up the latest! *giggles*

Apparently, my parents couldn't even sleep! How strange right? We thought to ourselves, it's just signing of papers, not even the real day.. Even my sister in law had to toss and turn!

I seriously cannot imagine on the REAL DAY!

I better standby some *coughs* medication.. :P

So of course, i didn't wake up with a pretty face, my eye bags were so thick and dark circles were like panda eyes! So it's good that we had this Jan 2nd day.. we know what to expect.. :)

We told ourselves, 1 week before the wedding day, we have to change our body clock, sleep early and wake early. and probably have to settle all the 'things to do' list one week before hand.

Y'know, at 5pm, i just crashed! K.O. my knees were aching my eyes were tearing my body just stopped functioning.

Like i said many times, O-M-G! actual day HOW!!!

Oh, AND i'm now Legally MRS. SOON. :)

My hen's trip is going VERY well.. JT the organiser, has BOUGHT our air tickets to Kota Bahru!! WOO HOOOOO!!! at a very affordable price, RM118 without check-in baggage.

We're going in JULY. The trip is open for to all my GIRL friends, so are you a girl? You're INVITED!

NO BOYS ALLOWED! sorry! hehe..

SO based on my poll, which only 3 girls clicked and voted.. we're going to PERHENTIAN! some of them, emailed me instead. -_-

Bangkok would be nice if it was a smaller group, like 4 pax. taxi, transportation, rooms etc.. shopping in a very crowded place eg: chatuchak. Would be much much easier.

That was one of the reasons why we chose perhentian over bangkok.

Anyway, we're going to Perhentian Kecil!! Most of us has been to Perhentian Besar, and not the kecil, and apparently it's much more fun at kecil..

or shall i say there's....

not that i'm into both of em'... but for my fellow girlfriends.. *evil grin* ^_^

We're not sure if we should go there and pamper ourselves, like check in to BUBU resort, OR, be adventurous ... pack our bags, fly there, without knowing which chalet to check in to. -__-

But we risk not able to stay together if we're travelling in a big group, or risk getting smelly toilets and mouldy pillows!!!

Part 1 of Frustration

ARGHHHHHHHH! i can feel my heart explode internally! my muscle are all tensed and my heart is either beating really fast, or has stop. i don't think i have a heart anymore!

SO FRUSTRATED WITH THE HOTEL!!!!!!!!!

soo so oo sooo tempted to change hotel, but before i threaten the hotel, I WANNA CANCEL MY BOOKING, (lucky i'm still a lil' bit rational), i called 2 other hotels, it's on wait list!!!!!!!!

so i guess i have to swallow my heart and find a new heart..

and ... pray hard and ... ... and.. i don't know whatelse to feel.. or say..

I've paid my deposit in October 2008 that's like 1 year before my actual wedding date, and the girl evonne who we loved, was transfered to another division, and replaced with supposedly better guy, ASSiSTANT MANAGER, my ARSE! ... he promised me the revised quotation for dunno how many years ago, now 2009, also haven't receive yet.. but one day he called me to ask me if i want my additional deluxe rooms as complimentary vouchers so i can use it another time! WTF. of course to use that night right! then he told me, okay i have to check availability..

SO last night i e-mailed him, because its .. like i said 2009 january already.. and he just called me to tell me, the hotel is FULLY BOOk! WTF. only able to give me 1 bridal suite and 1 additional deluxe room, the other one he can only give me complimentary voucher! SO usually i'm very calm, and i just said ok ok whatever.. but then.. i've decided to raise my voice! I BOOK and PAID DEPOSIT in OCT, and now 2009 u TELL me it's FULLY BOOK!!!! ridiculous right? I said you should have book there and then.. THEN WHAT ABOUT MY GUESTS who wants to stay over! he asked me, how many additional rooms i need! that's besides the whole point, u are telling me its fully book!

SOOOOOOOOO... i was and still am so angry with him..

i wanna change hotel, but the others are on wait list!!

and now he just sent me an email, because of me raising my voice, he just throw me some sweets.. giving me extra flowers, extra sugar and sweets..

soooooooooooo.. i dunno if i wanna change hotel now.. besides, the rest is on wait list, asking me to give alternate dates!

sighs.

My DIY Wedding Bouquet

We went to Petaling Street to get our flowers on New Year's Day evening!

The Cost:

RM24 for 20 stalks imported red roses

RM24 for 20 stalks imported white roses

RM13 for 20 stalks small red roses

RM5.90 for green floral tap

RM1.60 for pins

RM1.90 for white ribbon

RM5 for satin ribbon

Rm9 to remove thorns and leafs from 60 stalks of roses

RM2.90 for safety pins

Total spent : RM 87.30

spending our (me, s.a, wk) new year's night trying to make the bouquet several attempts and 13 corsages

Total : PRICELESS

Holding on to a bouquet that we personally made and my friend wk the real estate engineer now cum florist totally save my bouquet. The internet and video made it soo simple, however making the bouquet a perfect round wasn't as simple, i bought those green floral sponge for plan B, just in case my hand held bouquet failed. Plan B was to insert all the roses into the floral sponge, sounds simple again, but i'm sure its not easy making it a perfect round.

Here we go again, ...... the moral of the story is : Go order your bouquet from Petaling Street's wholesale florist it's still cheaper than retail florist. If you wanna have your own personal touch, and be proud of holding onto something you've made, buy pain killers, you need it for the headache!

Overall, it looks 'oh so pretty, and so lovely'..

i wanted to have even number of whites & reds but the white roses were smaller, so we chosed 2 white stalks to symbolize me and mervin and red to symbolize our love! (cheh wah)

It is this friday!!!!!

I totally love the last 2 weeks of 2008. non stop public holidays! It feels like we are permanent vacationers and working part time!!

Though 2nd Jan is JUST a registration of marriage. yes. IT iS ONLY registration. Though we're married legally, our parents do not see us as married couple, because we haven't gone through the chinese tea ceremony yet! Sometimes i think it's quite ridiculous. However, i wonder am i gonna treat my kids the same in the future!

I'm excited about this Friday! I have my white lil' dress, with ... well i don't have the perfect shoes yet...

I've dyed my hair to natural colour now, so i don't have super 'blonde' hair anymore. I've made appointment for manicure tomorrow. Though i have the tools to do it myself, i decided to pamper myself a lil bit more

I have never thought of holding a bouquet of flowers, because.. it is only signing of papers, to be married in the eyes of the law.. BUT! , S.A my sister in law, asked me the other night, what about flowers and corsages, she said she can help me with the corsages! so.. me and mervin decided to make the bouquet ourselves!

GOOGLE-d. And the internet make it so simple to DIY wedding bouquet. I thought of orchids, but orchids means alot of work, i'm guessing the orchid's stem is probably not as tough as roses, so we have to add and twist and bend the floral wire to each orchid's stem. So.. since it's supposed to be a DIY simple bouquet. (simple to the brain too).. I'm gonna go with roses. Gonna ask the florist if they can remove all the thorns for me.

I've bought the satin ribbons and the lil' pins! all set and excited to make my own bouquet! I hope it turns out well, if not, i'll just hold one stalk of rose that day. :P

Bacherlorette party / Hen party / Hen night but i want 3days2night trip

I don't really wanna get high and drunk on my hen's night and puke and drag myself to the toilet and just puke again.. praying to the toilet bowl is not how i imagine to celebrate my night with the gals.

I hate to admit this but clubbing nights are no longer fun for some reason. I used to love going to clubs, dance the night away. But now, i complain about my legs tired, my back hurts and wonder how i could stand/dance in clubs till the wee hours of the morning!

So i wanna plan for shopping in Bangkok with the gals or lazing at the beach, perhentian sounds good?

It's so hard to decide, we LOVE shopping.. and IT IS shopping in Bangkok, the hot humid CHATUCHAK, the CHEAP wholesale PRATUNAM market, the yummy thai food.. the stew pork rice, the yummy hot spicy tomyam, the KAU MAN GAI (chicken rice)..

BUT..

PERHENTIAN.. is SO NICE too. The sunny beach, the sound of the ocean, the vibrant nemo swimming, BUT.. it'll be wrong for me to go diving, while my friends go snorkelling right? But it's so hard not to go diving, since i'm already there at one the most beautiful beaches in Malaysia...

and besides, i can't tan myself, i don't wanna be a burnt bride! :P so does that mean i have to pour tons of sun block? But that means i will pollute the sea and kill the fishies! -_-

Its so clear that I AM so TORN apart.

is there a right time in your life to get married? the ideal age? how many years should you go out with your bf/gf before you pop the question? before moving on to the next stage. how many years do you think you need to know each other before saying, i know she/he is the one!

I've asked a few friends and some of them said 2 years paktor before he proposed, and 1 year planning, so 3 years in total before they are husband and wife, shortest 1 month after he met her, he pop the question, love at first sight it seems. some 6 months paktor then they got married, some they paktor for many years and they never thought about marriage till the day she finds a positive result on her pregnancy test.

Merv and I however, 6 years paktor before he asked me to marry him. I ask mervin, do you know you wanna marry me during our 2nd year courtship. (he answers, no) Well, I never thought about marriage at that time either! Honestly, I've always thought i'll get married approximately at the age of 30!

Last time, when people tell me they were planning to get married, i ask, how do you know she's the one, or are you sure, only 2 years together, or 1 1/2 years together??? serious?? haha.. and all of them answered the same thing.. 'i just know it' and 'we've been through enough to know what we want in life and i've found the person'

Wah like some lines they stole from a romantic movie.

Anyway, i've always been really sceptical about marriage, like there's so many broken marriages out there. So there's no such thing as happily ever after? We see our parents get on each other's nerve, they nag, they yell, they get so annoyed at each other. and We wonder, are we going to be like that in 30 years time? It's just so sad. Why get married then? Just to have kids, so they can tell you 'i hate you'?

I believe, our parents generation didn't paktor enough. :)

They were forced into marriage? Ok, forced maybe too strong word. But maybe their parents were like, who is this boy? You smile at him ah? Is he going to propose to you? Ask his parents come see me, and we table talk?! haha..

then, they get married, and then 9 months later, here comes the baby, and the next baby and the next baby.. and the folks work... they work and they work.. to support the family and the kids, and their kids education and everything else that needs to be paid.. the folks just concentrated on the money and to provide for the children.

Then one day, the children all gets married and leave the nest, and thats when, THE PARENTS get to know one another! and they will say.. IF I KNOW YOU ARE LIKE THAT bla bla.... etc etc.. I will not marry you... and some folks can't stand each other, sleep separate room/ stay separate house/ maybe, just maybe they get a divorce. (just observe, just take a moment to really 'notice' your parents, ponder on what you see. if you see love, you're so lucky. But I've seen many parents and i see the distant, noticed the petty fights etc. This little exercise is to prove my theory or rather learning experience right!)

So sad right? And you may ask me, then why are you getting married? Because ... i'm in love? head over heels? ... Because... i'm ready for the next stage, i'm ready to face the challenges of a happy marriage life. It needs lotsa effort, not from one side, but both husband and wife. We need to encourage, compliment, support, laugh, cry, (the list goes on) .... together-gether..

Merv thinks the key to a happily ever after marriage, is to make each other laugh. Because as all would say, laughter is the best medicine.

But i haven't been doing any wedding preparations lately! and i thought i should keep my blog about my wedding preparations... and not blog about the weather, or anything under the sun.. i guess i am forced to blog about my boring life just to keep my blog alive! :P

i've been very ill lately (for those who knows me, i might have just exaggerate that a lil) .. but it's quite true lah.. haha.. i fell sick on the 4th of dec, thursday, and i didn't enjoy my long weekend, actually, i did enjoy the long weekend, but not the FOOODD! i missed out on all the yummy foooodd...

I had fever, sore throat, i lost my voice, i sound like a man / sexy voice to some, i'm coughing greenish phlegm (according to dr. wk, its infected), and i'm still coughing till today, 1 1/2 weeks. (dr wk says i need antibiotics, he doesn't know am allergic to all drugs :P)

Back to something related to my wedding preparations.. :)

I am EXCITED and NERVOUS about 2nd january (the day i am legally married to Mr Soon - OMG), many many months ago, i bought myself a cute lil' white dress, I bought it without having any functions to attend, I bought it because it was nice, i look nice in it, and i told myself, aiyah, buy only lah, the day when i need a dress, i have to go out searching and might not find a nice dress! (good excuse for us gals, to shop for no reason right??)

Now i just need a pair of cute lil heels to go with my cute lil' dress. :)

PM says she'll stay over my house, and help me out with my make up. hee hee!

My hair is now so boring, i can't cut it cos am leaving my hair long for my big day, hopefully it grows really really long.. (yeah rite).. I told mervin he should have told me earlier, that he wanna marry me. haha.. so i wouldn't have leave my hair long, longlonglong time ago!

Back to my hair... its so so boring, and my roots are showing, so ugly... i decided to make an appointment and go dye it! maybe this Sat.

Oh you know, i'm not only preparing my hair for Jan 2, but I've bought myself a hair mask, so it will grow super nice like a sunsilk/pantene ad gal! :) .. then maybe i can twirl around for the camera man. muahaha..

Besides me, and myself...

We have decided to have a luncheon at Nanking Court! :) instead of Shangri-La. it's gonna cost us a bomb if we gonna have it in Shang for so many of us.

Have been thinking to myself, if we really need to hire a pro-photographer for the registration day.. (haven't decided yet)

You see, just for the registration day, My head also almost cracked into half ady. hahaha..

Honestly, i'm quite panicky, that i haven't been doing anything! I thought preparing for a wedding has lotsa of things to do.. but am so ........ lepak........

actually, am still looking for a good make up artist that will make me superdropdeadgorgeous on my BIG Day.

Everyone says, 'still soooo earlyyy'.. 'nevermind wann'.. or 'you have 1 year to plan'... 'take your time'..

it's never too early to plan.. if you have 1 year to plan, ~~spread it out and do it~~ share the planning and workload .. i think it's not so stressful that way, and besides, it'll avoid unneccesary arguments with your future husband. and most importantly, it teaches you how to work in a team!.. its not everyday you would work as a team with your husband/wife.

if you want to hold you wedding reception in one of those top 10 hotels in KL, you have to book em' fast, especially if your wedding date is on a HOT auspicious date.

BOOK everyone!! even your HOT high society friends. (in thai they call em 'hi so'/ lower society group 'low so')

I had to book Alvin, haha.. so he has blocked his calender for us. Thank you alvin. (hi-so) :P even my brothers & sister in law (hi-so), or friends from overseas, you need to tell them way in advance, and not 2 months before the wedding.

That reminds me, I haven't book a videographer & make-up artist! yikes!

Recently i saw a photo which will be wrong for me to put it up, the bride's face was like superduperwhite! Sometimes we see they look fine, until we see the photo. How strange, maybe when we buy our next foundation we should request for a 'non reflective' foundation. o_O (not sure if there's such thing, maybe i should invent that)

Fly there on Friday 30th Oct 09, and wedding is held in my grandma's place, in Lamphun. (27km away from chiangmai) SO, Book your tickets to CHIANGMAI, Thailand! (Bangkok to Chiangmai is FAR - 696km)

Anyway, why 31st of October? Cause 2nd Nov is Loykrathong, a romantic thai festival. it will be nice to stay back for it and fly home 3rd of Nov.. its one of the festival not to be missed besides the FUN splashing Songkran in April (water festival)

do we ever wonder which finger are we suppose to wear our engagement ring? wedding band?

the chinese saying is 'male is left, female is right' (yes, female always right wan) everything they do, palm reading .. actually i dunno what else except palm reading .. is male left and female right. so if you want to follow the chinese way, the male wear on the 4th finger of the wrong hand, i mean left. and female 4th finger on the RIGHT hand.

But if you want to be really romantic .. i suggest both male and female, wear it on the left hand. (we can't always be right you see..) it is said that the 4th finger of the left hand, contains the 'vein of the heart/love' so when we wear our rings is are close to our heart. (aaaaaaaaawwww, so romantic right?)

It is said the engagement ring and wedding band to wear it on the same finger. But its not easy to find two that fits nicely together, unless if you custom made that is if you have extra money to spend on. But then again, if you wear it on the same finger, you'll scratch both the rings! I just surf the internet, in the US, they have matching bands and engagement ring. I think its just M'sia lah.. so lousy. not many options.

some said u don't need to spend alot on your wedding band, some said you should spend alot on your wedding band because you'll be wearing it for life.

wedding bands are meant to be smooth, simple, no gaps, no holes, no nothing.. Because it is a symbol of our love with one another. A symbol of how our marriage is .. i heard from the sales assistant, some don't even want hollow rings. they want a solid ring. (some superstitious cliche la)

maybe after our wedding ceremony, we'll tattoo our 'rings' onto our finger.. o_O definitely, there will not be any holes, gaps, hollow, sharp edges.. its skin deep..

maybe a lil' wrinkle in 30 yrs time. ^_^

Since mervin took leave, we decided to visit JPN in putrajaya, (precint 2). We had to bring along our passport size photo, photocopy i/c. (lucky for us - mervin has our passport size photo in his wallet for situation like this)

5th of Nov 08, was a day to remember. Mervin took leave and we went to Equatorial Bangi.

We discussed our menu with the Chef (who happens to cook yummy food and is really young!), we picked and chose the dishes according to our liking. We also finalised with Evonne the 'black & white' stuffs, and the most important thing, we PAID deposit to book the ballroom! SO 24th OCT 2009, its OURS! MUAHAHAHAHAHA.. :P

Evonne was EXTREMELY kind, and gave us 4 complimentary DIMSUM LUNCH BUFFET. (double yums), We were so EXCITED! and acted SO JAKUN (typical) HEE HEE. Irene (the waitress) , helped us ordered, and we managed to take some photos.. the first few dim sums went into our tummy so quickly, so no photos of that!! Oh so hungry thats why. hehe..

mervin loves the glass noodle, we pass it all to him.. :)

As of today, we official have a venue!

and 4 happy stomachs... Such a SATISFYING meal!

Every year 100+ million sharks die because of finning. Why? Because there's a demand for SHARK FIN SOUP. Do you know what they served in the hotel, its not all pure shark fin anyway? Just imagine how many sharks they have to kill just to serve 1000 hungry people attending your wedding? 1000 bowls of shark fin?

you do the math.

the make belief shark fin taste exactly like what the hotel serves, that's because, shark fin is probably tasteless, PURE/ MAKE BELIEF can you tell the difference?

Currently shark fin cost heaps to buy, if there's no demand for shark fin, it'll eventually be worthless!

Our last dive trip for 2008: (this is gonna be a photo blog)

We went to perhentian for our advanced open water. Decided to take the 8 hour bus ride to Kuala Besut Jetty, because it was cheaper. Rm40 (after Raya surcharged). The ride was okay for me.. i didn't really care when the bus swerved left & right.. the only thing that bothered me was my butt was sore from sitting so longg!!

Our holiday started!!!

YAYYYY!!

On our first night, we saw baby turtles walking really quickly and with all their might to the sea. No flash allowed, hence the blurry effect. (flash lights will hurt the turtles vision) In order for me to snap pics, Mervin was trying to slow the turtle down by putting his hand there.

i did something different this round, I played volleyball with the boys. On the 2nd game, i had carpet burnt. (ouch! it hurt even more when i had to put my booties on and fins and kena salt water and KICK in the sea WITH strong current) Until today, the wound is still healing. BUT Volleyball was soo fun and painful! my fingers and hands were sore for few days! i don't know how they invented this game.

this part of the our trip, is what i wanna share with everyone.

As i said earlier, we came to do our advanced open water. so we can go deeper and night. Our dives were mainly to do our skills and not much of a fun dive. (probably a wrong move to do our advanced) At 9am 1st group of divers from Bubbles went out to Tokong Laut, we the 2nd group at 9.30am. We were doing our deep dive so we were at 24metres below doing our skills and taking GROUP PHOTOS! sighs

1st group, did a shallow dive at 16metres.

All we experienced was taking a group photo at 24m and

swimming in WHALE SHARK'S PEE!

bridal fair @ midvalley 19th OCt 08

we were supposed to check out Photobook's booth, but i left the bridal fair, saying to mervin, 'i don't know why are we here, and there's nothing else to do, LETS GO!'

arghh... SO STUPID! :(

Besides that dumb situation, (yes there's more) we were also there to accompany our friend, who is getting married in May 09. They wanted to do some survey, and i brought them to 'wedding couture's booth'. The sales person ask rachel to spin the wheel, and she won a free rental of wedding gown worth Rm1000 for actual wedding day. Of course, there are fine lines, you have to sign up with them.

SO... being the typical me, i was like, 'yerrr.. why she can i cannot, and i also wannnnnnnnnnttt..' so she allowed me to spin the wheel, and GUESS WHAT, i won a FREE PHOTOSHOOT AT KRABI!

i told mervin, danny.. well whoever was there that day.. and they were like ARE YOU SERIOUS! krabi worrrrrrrrr... serious ahhhhhhhhhh.. soo luckyyyyyyyyy... i was so happy.. cos to sign up that package will cost ya, RM1688!!

of course, air ticket n accomodation, is on your own.

few days later, i called my sales assistant, and told her about me winning it, and i thought i had to book my air ticket etc etc.. cos they have only certain dates available..

so she told me, its not inclusive of photo album, the album cost rm1300 (magz style album) for 50 poses, you can get a cd of the photos too. If that's too expensive, there is rm600 for 20 poses (4R album), or rm900 5R album. Blardy hell.. my happiness was crushed... and .. i said chehh.. bluff ppl wan lah.. then she said its "FREE PHOTOSHOOT" not "FREE PACKAGE" , she told me its LUCKY draw, and we don't do 'sit bun sang yi' = non profitable business.

haven't been blogging lately, i just left the wedding preparation like how i left my last blog. :P

and we are going for our last dive trip for 2008 this coming weekend.. its perhentian again! 3 times this year! woo hooo!

we're going night and deeper. awesome.

anyway, we're not doing a garden wedding. XXXXXXX many Xs' for garden wedding. Its now october, and it's been raining cats and dogs. imagine 24 oct 2009? and i can't have my guest drench at 9pm at night? right? or in the middle of our speeches, or etc etc.. a dream wedding becoming a 'possible' disaster!

It brings us back to square one, 'a once in a lifetime' (i just can't afford any screw ups) event.

so.. we're going back to the normal, boring, ballroom. dad says i can just rent potted plants and place them in ballroom. *ha ha ha* mom says our house garden **HA HA HA*

sooo.. we're not gonna crack our heads over the venue. we're just gonna have fun and dive! YAY YAY!

the wedding process just doesn't stop... not yet.. not now...

I know how to choose a bridal shop, based on service, gowns, and photographer style. and with the photographer, its also style n service.

But with make up artist? What? style? and if i go around having trials, i'll probably end up paying more at the end of the day. (trials are only free if you hire them, if not, it'll be from rm50-rm150)

and like photographers, the more experienced, the higher they charge.. and this time the gals at the forum isn't much help! all of them says! i love my make up artist (MUA), they are best, i love the way i look, i highly recommend her, 10/10 for her!

they are not making it easier for me!!!

Now.. we have to find for a venue to throw our BIG party! probably the most expensive party we'll ever throw in our lives! and that is why, it is suppose to happen only once in OUR life time. and i hate it that its a once in a life time event. haha.. why can't it be like a birthday party..

yknow, just throw a bbq party, invite friends and family. and if the chicken is burnt, i'll just order KFC instead. If bbq was a bad idea, next year i'll do a steamboat party...

Anyway, because of the fuel increased, and everything that has a price tag increased! hence, next year everything like hotel, make up artist, etc.. is gonna increase!! YIKES!!

Merv & i split our duties, he is in charge of venue. We always dreamt of a garden wedding, however after much surveying, our folks were surprised its the same price with a sit down ballroom dinner! so of course, they said, 'since same price, why not we sit down, let them serve us and air cond room summore'

Thenn.. we started searching for other options, Holiday Villa, Subang's cheapest RM888++ per table, year 2009 cheapest RM1088++ per table. (see what i mean, everything going up) One world (my dad's choice) RM1488++, oh.. but 24th oct, its booked! on waiting list... and the list goes onnnnnnn...

We went to Palace of the Golden Horses, they have garden wedding, and the Mines Resort, they have beach wedding! YAY! beach wedding.. but after stepping on to their 'beach', so sad,

We allocated RM4000 for a bridal shop package. Mervin & I went to Vogue Collection at SS2. peiming took her bridal shots there, and we love vogue, because they're not so typical chinese shop, they speak english, and their shots are natural, not so posy, and fun.

We spoke to Daniel, the manager. and the package was RM3888 for pre wedding shots. When peiming signed up last year it was RM3688! When we were discussing about how pre wedding shots come about.. it's a trend.. a taiwanese trend.. during our parent's time, all they did was, stop by at the studio and snap a photo. that's it! But now, u have 6 costumes, 2 wedding gowns, 2 evening gowns, 2 costumes. Some even dress you up in kimono/ korean outfit/ with hello kitty. etc.. It's really unnecessary (our point of view). Mervin was like, YES. i Like the idea!! and he said, if you signed up BY friday.. i'll throw in a photoframe. (pressure)

Lucky, we didn't allow him to pressure us to sign up.. and we said.. let's think about it..

So.. i surveyed .. Bridal Concept.. I don't like the manager. X

When finding for your bridal shop, you have to see if you like the style of the photographer, the Sales consultant, and of course the GOWNS.

I went to ever after.. they're not too bad.. i went to Sophia, i quite like them.. i went to bridal art, i think their package is one of the most expensive in terms of poses. I went to wedding couture.. and their one of the most flexible bridal shops.. And they have nice gowns.. and the sales consultant and I managed to click right away.. like old buddies.. and they meet my budget.. however mervin still like vogue, so we went back there, since they said they're very flexible, so we told them what we wanted.. and they said sorry, we can't do it for you.

26th August 2008, Mervin proposed to me along the beautiful shores of Perhentian Island @ bubbles resort.

Honestly, i don't think i said YES. haha! all i remember was.. WAHHH.. HAHAHAHAA! like a kid on christmas day. The joy of receiving so many toys. In my case, a diamond ring = a toy? :P

Sooo.. after the few days of spreading my joy to the closest friends and family.. It was time to start planning for the BIG day.. (the day my hair started dropping, the day i grind my teeth even more)

Firstly, it was time to meet the LIMS. :) scary and awkward.. watching the Soons talking to the Lims. My dad was so professional.. he went right into the topic, and though my dad can be really fierce and stern with us kids. He was very open that day.. he explained the process, and spoke very diplomatically (couples may end up breaking up b'cos the meet the parents went haywire), as usual my mom served food. Food makes important discussion like this, easier.

after the meeting, the conclusion was 'anything, anything, we very ching chai wan, as long as our kids are happy'

So to cut the story short... (i very cheong hei).. our wedding date is .........
